Union County is situated in the Chattahoochee National Forest, with 97,843 acres of its 204,736 total acres being part of this National Forest. Conveniently located within 100 miles of Atlanta, Chattanooga, Asheville, and Greenville, South Carolina, Union County is the perfect retreat.

Union County is the home of the tallest mountain in Georgia, Brasstown Bald, standing at 4,784 feet. A must see from the visitors' center and observatory at the top if you love breathtaking view.

Looking for hiking trails around the area? We have plenty. Including the Appalachian Trail, and Helton Creek Falls. And if fishing is your fancy, there are many great trout streams, or you can try Lake Nottely, a 4,180 acre stocked TVA lake.

Visit Blairsville and be swept away by mountain views, scenic beauty, hiking trails, lake and river activities, state parks, local shopping and laid back atmosphere.
